On friday evening at 10:00pm, Stephen, Nathan, and myself set off for Sandrock, a haven for climbers in the middle of nowhere. After stopping by taco bell and walmart for the essentials(power bars and 6 gallons of water), we were ready for the road. They had decided to find it without looking at a map, so the supposed 1 and a half hour trip turned into about 2 and half hours. Several cd's later, we arrived. Sleep was very short, then the day began overlooking the landscape with a beautiful sunrise(we woke up for the second half of it). We spent the day till about 1 bouldering, then made our way back. Remembering something about a waterfall somewhere in Guntersville, I called up Ben Butler to see if he knew where it was. His directions pretty much consisted of: "head toward a mill with something painted on the side, go up the mountain behind it, turn right at a main road, go down a few miles, pull off at a bride, look for a trail in the woods and follow it." Amazingly enough, we found it, or at least a waterfall that was about 25 feet tall by about 50 feet wide. Though dirty, the water was refreshing and deep. Feeling the inner urge, Nathan and I jumped off the waterfall after much scrutiny of the mirky depths below. Definitely worth it. It was an awesome trip, lots of fun. Lets do it again!

Mr. Bunj E. was a loyal Clean Edge worker. Every day he worked his job, without complaints, and always flexible to do other tasks assigned. He remained behind after hours to make sure equipment would stay secured in whatever weather. Every day, he would stretch his capacity for work, and try to expand a little more to finish the job. He had grown old with the job, faithful since the start of the company. His body was weaker, and his youthful springy self was dissapearing. Then the fateful day came. He became a victim in a push mower accident. The unforgiving mower ripped relentlessly through his torso, until his entrails came gushing out, being strewn across the lawn. It was impossible to save him, by the time we had realized there was trouble, it was to late. There was his head and the messy remains below, laying on the lawn not far from the accident. There was nothing to do but hang the remains on the trailer. Any part that was left below his head was scraped along the road till all that was left was what is shown in the picture. Mr. Bunj E. had a good life. His memory will always remain in our hearts. We at Clean Edge have learned an important lesson, leave the dangerous pushmower jobs to the young, who have more bounce. That is all we can do to prevent duplicating this tragedy.

Life is good. Blog posting is infrequent, but that just represents the amount going on in the life. The said arrival of hurricane Dennis has had many people worried, thus calls had been pouring in requesting lawn service before the storm hit. after three days of constant work, the "storm" or rain hit, and I enjoyed a peaceful satisfaction of knowing I got them all done, until Wednesday. Today, I have been enjoying a peaceful day, listening to music, learning some flash scripting for a new web page, some driving around and such, the "must have" trip to costco(inside joke), and a exhillerating workout, very much so encouraged by Nathan, the ultimate resource of inspiration. I have begun the matrix trilogy, believe it or not, I have never seen it. I have seen the first two and am now awaiting the third. The first one was definitely thought provoking while the second had cool fights, yet lacked what the first one triumphed in. Anyway, thats pretty much the little stuff happening in my life right now.

I really have enjoyed working this summer, the time out is a wonderful diversion from the spring/fall tragedy known as school. Since lawn care requires little thinking, I get plenty of time to just think about random things. Its been great to analyze thoughts and such that appeared last semester in my head. I never had much time to think about what I wanted to think about during school, so now its been great. Always trying to understand things, I think about alternate views people have on Christianity, or even just religions in general. Since my external cd player that plugs into the tape deck broke on my truck, I have been having plenty of time to listen to public radio. Something that really bugs me, and I cant come up with a good reason, is why Christianity is so excluded as a "religion," while other religions around the world are thought of as the peoples culture. What is up with this? Why is a statue of Buddah fine, but anything pertaining to Christianity is shunned by people? This has been something I have been thinking about a lot. Why isnt the phrase: "for Mohammed's sake" as widely(not at all ;)) used as its Christian counterpart? This type of thought has just really been encouraging me to pray for this world more. I fear what is happening to our American culture. I believe we can bring this country back to the way it was founded. It is going to take work though. Are we willing to put forth the effort?

I hope everyone is enjoying their independence day weekend. I know I am. We went to a production done by Whitesburg Baptist, called "I Love America" tonight that was really cool(http://christophercottage.com for more info...) Flags were very abundant. I decided to make this site more patriotic as well. I think it turned out pretty well... Certainly not the best for the eyes, but it does the trick I think. I will leave it up for a few days after the fourth just because its cool... I love America a lot in case anyone was wondering. Its the coolest place in the world... :)
